A Note Before We Begin

Sending your family pieces through the mail can feel a little like waving goodbye to someone at a train platform. You know they're headed somewhere good, and still you watch until they're out of sight. We understand that feeling, and this page is here to walk you through each leg of the journey, from the moment your pieces leave your hands to the day they come home to you in their new form.

Sending Your Pieces to Us

You choose the carrier, cover the cost, and insure your package on its way to the studio. Because these pieces often can't be replaced, we gently but strongly encourage you to:

  • Choose a tracked service so you can follow your package every step of the way.

  • Insure the package for an amount that reflects what the pieces mean to you and what they would cost to replace. Check with your carrier about any limits on coverage for jewelry.

  • Request a signature on delivery, so your package is never left unattended on a doorstep.

  • Photograph each piece before you pack it and keep a simple list of what's inside. This gives both of us a shared record to look back on.

  • Pack with care, wrapping each item separately in soft material and placing everything in a sturdy box rather than a padded envelope.

Please send your pieces to the address we provide after your consultation.

While your pieces are in transit to us, they remain in the carrier's care, so any loss or damage along the way is handled through the carrier's claims process and the insurance you purchased.

When Your Pieces Arrive

Within 2 business days of receiving your package, we'll email you to let you know it arrived safely. We'll include photos of what we found inside so you can confirm that everything is accounted for. If anything doesn't match your list, we'll reach out right away so we can sort it out together.

From that moment until your finished piece ships back to you, your heirlooms are in our care, and we treat them as we would our own family's treasures, storing all pieces in a separate tray that is dedicated to housing your family's jewelry from the moment that we take it in to the moments that we send it back to you.

How Long the Work Takes

Every remix moves at its own pace, shaped by the design, the condition of the materials, and the care each piece needs. During your consultation, we'll give you an estimated timeline for your design, and we'll keep you updated as the work unfolds.

If something in the process takes longer than we expected, we'll let you know as soon as we see it coming, along with a new estimated date. If the bead remix experiences a delay in shipping to you that extends past a 30-day window, we refund any deposit and absorb the cost of shipping your piece back to you.

Sending Your Finished Piece Home

When your piece is complete and your balance is settled, we'll ship it to you by United States Postal Service and provide you with the tracking number along with insurance, and signature confirmation (unless you decline signature confirmation).

Outbound shipping is included in your price that we bill you for the final balance; this will be quoted to you during your consultation or immediately following via email.

Along with your finished piece, we'll return any beads, metals, or other elements we didn't use, unless you've told us you'd prefer the studio keep them (see our Community Chest page). We'll confirm your choice with you before we ship.

Once your package is on its way, we'll email you the tracking number so you can watch it travel home.

Once Your Package Is in the Carrier's Hands

Once your package is with the carrier, its journey follows their timeline. Delivery estimates come from the carrier and depend on their ability to bring your package to you safely and securely, which can be affected by weather, natural disasters, and other acts of God, as well as carrier delays and events beyond anyone's control.

If Something Goes Wrong in Transit

We insure every outbound package, and if your finished piece is lost or damaged on its way to you, we'll file the claim with the carrier and keep you informed at every step. Please contact us within 48 hours of delivery if your package arrives damaged, and keep the box and packing materials, since the carrier may ask to see them.

Getting the Address Right

Please double-check your shipping address before your piece ships. If a package is returned to us because of an incorrect or incomplete address, we'll be glad to send it again, and the cost of reshipping will be yours.

Shipping Outside the United States

At this time, we ship only within the United States. We ship internationally on a case-by-case basis; customs fees and duties are the responsibility of the recipient.
