A Note before the Details

When you reach out to us, you are often opening more than an email. You may be opening a drawer that has stayed closed for a long while, sharing a photo of your grandmother's pearls, or the story of the aunt who wore that red corded bracelet every Sunday.

We want you to know exactly how we care for what you share with us.

This page explains, in as plain of language as possible, what information we gather from you as part of our work with you, why we gather it, who helps us handle it, and the choices that remain yours throughout.

We've kept it short on purpose.

What We Gather

We only ask for what we need to do this work well. Depending on how you connect with us, that may include:

• Your contact details, such as your name, email address, and phone number, when you fill out our contact or consultation form.

• Your mailing address, when we need to receive your pieces or return your finished design to you.

• Photos, descriptions, and stories about your jewelry and the people who owned it, when you choose to share them so we can plan your design together.

• Transcripts of our design conversations, made only with your permission, which we’ll ask for at the start of each call. These help us remember the details you share so we can honor them in your design. If you’d prefer we not record, we’re happy to take notes by hand instead. Currently, transcripts are deleted automatically after 30 days by our systems.

• Basic information about your visit to our website, such as the pages you visit and the type of device or browser you use, gathered through our Wix.com website platform.

• Payment information, which is handled through our Etsy shop. Etsy and its payment partners process your payment under Etsy’s own privacy policy, and we never see or store your full card number.

How We Use This Information

We do not sell your personal information, and we never will.
We will share your information if the law requires it.

We use your information to respond to your questions, plan and carry out your custom design, ship your pieces safely, process payment, and send occasional notes about our work if you have asked to hear from us.

We also look at general website patterns to understand which pages are helpful and where we can do better.

Your Photos and Family Stories

The stories you share about your loved ones are held with particular care. We use them to shape your design and for nothing else unless you tell us otherwise. We will never post photos of your pieces, your story, or your name on our website, blog, or social media without your written permission. If you'd be happy to have your finished piece featured, we'll ask you first, and we'll honor your answer either way.

Who Else Helps Us

Like most small studios, we rely on a few trusted service providers to keep things running. We share with each of them only what they need to do their part:

• Website hosting: Wix.com (and its partners)
• Payments: Etsy.com
• Shipping:  USPS (or other carrier based on your preference)
• Email and scheduling: Wix.com and Google (Gmail and Calendar)
• Website analytics: Wix.com
• Video Calls and Transcription: Zoom.com

Form time to time, we may add a new tools, such as an application from the Wix marketplace, to make our work with you smoother. When we do, we'll add it to this list before it touches any of your information.

Some of these providers may collect information directly as you use our site, for example, when a page loads on our site, or when you complete a purchase in our Etsy shop.

Each of these organizations follows its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to look at those as well if you have concerns.

Cookies and Do Not Track Signals

Some browsers let you send a "Do Not Track" signal to the websites you visit. Our site does not currently respond to these signals. Instead, our site uses Wix.com's dedicated cookie consent banner which permits you to customize your privacy settings with our site. By using the banner pop-up on the site, you can accept, decline or modify these settings.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your information for as long as we're working together and for a reasonable time afterward, so we can answer questions about your piece, honor any care or repair commitments, and keep the business records the law requires.

After that, we retain only what is needed for tax and accounting records.

Keeping Your Data Safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information, choosing reputable providers and limiting who can see what you share.

No system online is perfectly secure, so we can't promise that nothing will ever go wrong, but we treat your information the way we treat your heirlooms: carefully, and with respect.

Your Choices

This is your story, and you remain in charge of it. You may ask us to:

• Tell you what personal information we hold about you
• Correct anything that's inaccurate
• Delete your information, unless we need to keep certain records for legal or business reasons
• Stop sending you emails (every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link)

To make any of these requests, simply email us at info@thebeadremix.com.

We'll respond within 10 days, often sooner.

Children's Privacy

Our site and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has shared information with us, please let us know and we will remove it.

When This Policy Changes

If we update this policy, we'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If the change is significant, we'll also email you (if we have your email address on file).
